Returns & Refunds Policy

At Martel’s Art, each artwork is created, prepared, and packaged with great care and attention. Due to the nature of original and handmade artwork, I generally do not accept returns or refunds for change-of-mind purchases.

Please read the following policy carefully before placing an order.

1. Original Artwork Sales

As original artworks are unique pieces, I ask customers to choose carefully before purchasing. Returns for original artworks are generally not accepted unless: the item arrives significantly damaged, or the incorrect item was received. If a return is approved, the artwork must be returned in its original condition and packaging where possible. Unless the item itself is faulty or incorrect, customers are responsible for return shipping costs.

2. Commissions & Custom Artwork

Commissioned and custom artworks are highly personalised and created specifically for the client. For this reason: commission payments are non-refundable once work has commenced, deposits and progress payments are non-refundable, custom or personalised artworks cannot be returned for change of mind. Throughout the commission process, I aim to make the experience collaborative and personal to ensure the final piece feels meaningful and unique to the client.

3. Made-to-Order Framed Artwork

Made-to-order framed pieces are created specifically for each order and are therefore non-refundable unless they arrive damaged or faulty. Please ensure sizing, framing selections, and artwork choices are reviewed carefully before purchase.

4. Damaged, Lost, or Incorrect Orders

If your order arrives significantly damaged, lost in transit, or incorrect, please contact me within 48 hours of delivery at: martelsart@outlook.com Please include: your order number, photographs of the artwork, photographs of the packaging, and details of the issue. Depending on the circumstances, I may offer: a partial refund, store credit, or another suitable resolution at my discretion. Tracked and signed shipping services are used where possible for original artworks and commissions to help protect both the artwork and the customer.

5. Return Conditions

If a return is authorised: the artwork must be securely packaged, returned in original condition, and shipped using a tracked service where possible. I reserve the right to refuse refunds if returned items are damaged due to inadequate return packaging or handling.

6. Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be processed back to the original payment method where possible. Please allow several business days for payment providers or banks to process returned funds.
